Bath & Body Works Sale

One of my favorite sales is the $3 clearance at Bath & Body Works. I love to moisturize and be clean, so I bought everything and I'm going back for more! It lasts for the next 2 days, and lotions are also on sale 6 for $20.

SATC Premiere Party

We had to go to Sex & the City Premiere Party on Thursday at the St. Regis, at Monarch Beach cause of work. They were giving away all types of martinis and the cougars couldn't get enough. My favorite cougars, the Desperate Housewives of OC, where there! I think they actually look better in person because the HDTV isn't there to enhance their beautiful wrinkles.

Besides them, everyone including the cougars looked very nice, some even tricked me. I put the second picture up to comment on the blond in the magenta dress on the left. She's full Asian! I'm just jealous that she was able to get her that blond.

Later, there was a fashion show in a very crowded room where it could have doubled as a rave cuz everyone was crowded and the music was way too loud. Calvin Klein, Carolina Herrera, and Donna Karen were the ones showing.

To sum it up, I give the night two enthusiastic thumbs way up.

Diesel

Shopping a lot has its perks too since you get invited to all the events. I'm surprised I haven't gotten an invitation to a Forever 21 party. Diesel's throwing a party May 29th at South Coast Plaza, to get rid of their Summer/Spring collection, while they still have their temporary location.

LV

Ha! Thanks to Louis Vuitton and the mailman, because now I know what I want for my birthday! That doesn't mean I'll get it though. . . I really want the XL bag in Mahina leather but LV doesn't keep the same prices every season, they raise them! Well, there's always second best. I also really like the limelight clutch in laminated textile, but a clutch doesn't go very far. But beggars can't be choosers.

Yves Saint Laurent: His Life & Times

I watched a very impressive biography on the Sundance Channel by David Teboul about one of the most influential and revolutionary designers, Yves Saint Laurent. I love his quiet nature on the film, it demonstrates his true artistry that impacted the industry. I also enjoyed his long time companion, but no more, Pierre Berge, commenting on his St. Laurent's genius.

Killah coming to South Coast

I'm an avid fan of Miss Sixty, because first and foremost the jeans fit me! It's hard to find clothes that fits you let alone jeans. I was happy to hear Killah is coming to the Miss Sixty store at South Coast. The only other time I've seen Killah was when I was in Honolulu. Miss Sixty said they would be the only store that carries it on the West Coast. Hey, doesn't Hawaii count?

Happy Cambodian New Year!

I was belated saying Happy Birthday to Posh, so of course I'm late saying Happy New Year! I was just look through blogs when I saw pictures of the parade that goes on Anaheim Street in Long Beach right in front of my parents store. The two little boys wearing the costumes is soo cute!

Life Plaza but better!

Asian's are slowly taking over the world, and we all know Irvine is the main hub, bwaha. The Diamond-Jamboree shopping center is set to open Summer 2008. I was really excited to hear Bread Papa's and Tokyo Table is going to be there. And the Taiwanese based, 85c Bakery Cafe, might rival my beloved Cha for Tea. You know it's gotta be good if they're flying in pastry chefs from Taiwan to train the chefs in Irvine.

2 girls 1 cup

I had no idea what Christian Louboutin looked like but he's not so much taller next to Ashley Olson. Mary-Kate really looks like Kate Hudson pushing her penis inside him.

Happy Mother's Day Present

Tiffany's a good place if you want a lot of options. This Mom Heart Lock Pendant, would be a cute present for young mom's, and quite affordable for jewelry, $250.

Capt.'s Quote of the Day

The beautiful has but one type, the ugly has a thousand. - Victor Hugo

I don't get it...but it makes my brain feel funny. C.P xoxo

Hmm. .

This is Aubrey O'Day, a UCI alumnae, partying it up in an Alice + Olivia dress, retailed for $297. It's pretty similar to the dress at www.captpink.com with the rosettes detail. Come to think of it, they all remind me of awhile back when Sienna Miller in Marchesa.

Xabi & Cole

This posting is for L and Xabi. It was the picture of the day on one my favorite blogs so I decided to post it up to. Who doesn't admire Xabi's namesake, and Joe Cole who defies soccer fashion by wearing short shorts.

Tory Burch

If you love Tory Burch as much as Lance Armstrong does or did, you know Hollywood relationships, you'd be happy to know that the store is having a 60% sale today at South Coast.

Bar Pintxo Recap

The same Riviera issue I had seen Daniel Martinez, it contained a small events calendar that said the owner of Bar Pintxo, Chef Joe Miller was coming to the Cannery for something. But what shocked me what that he was a Michelin Star Chef! Hmm, I guess his other restaurant in Venice must have some crazy voodoo spice in it, because even Angeleno gave Bar Pintxo two stars.

Daniel Martinez

In one my former lives, Daniel Martinez was my professor at UCI. I was flipping through the newest issue of Riviera and I came across this picture of him at OCMA. Daniel Martinez is a world renowned artist; So Cal people might remember his highway beautification art project that got a lot of press. The art world is very cool, they live by their own rules.

Captain's Quote of the Day

"I want to be a Texan 24 hours a day."- James Dean

Konk

I absolutely LOVE the Kooks. Come on, I'm still listening to their first album everyday. I finally downloaded their second album Konk, which was released two weeks ago. Ooh la, they were such good boys to me.

Bar Pintxo

Today I went to go eat at Bar Pintxo on Santa Monica Blvd. I wanted to go eat here about two months ago when I read a review about it in Angeleno. I love the tapas I had in Barcelona, and since there were no good tapas bars around So Cal I really wanted to go.
The environment is reminiscent of a Spanish bordello. The Rioja-lined walls almost force you to order a glass of wine the instant you are in your seat. It is only until your blinding headache kicks in that you remember why you never drink Spanish wine. The tapas are sometimes a bit confusing, fusing flavors that taste a bit overly dramatic. When they stick to one flavor, the Bar Pintxo's tapas overall quality are intensely palatable. The owner has drawn great inspiration from San Sebastian, Spain, but unfortunately the Bar Pintxo falls flat in terms of the cuisines' execution.
Rating Scale: We drop 2 anchors at Bar Pintxo, good service and great environment, but don't over complicate a simple idea. But if you do go, the crema de chocolat desert and the grilled garlic shrimp are must-eats.

1 Anchor = So hungry you have no choice
2 Anchors= It's not so bad, it's not so good
3 Anchors= Good food, good atmosphere
4 Anchors= Food you gotta have once a week
5 Anchors= My last dying meal

Wakey Wakey

A good general knows, don't sweat in front of your soldiers. 'Gossip Girl' is like my 'Heroes', I watch the first season thinking, "OMFG.", and then the second season, "WTF, this is so stupid." Jenny has got to be the gossip girl, because, come on, she's more diabolical than Blair! And I think the only one that dresses well is Serena and the 'rents, the rest look like Alice in Wonderland threw up on all of them, including Chuck.

I came across this Lanvin Spring '08 show awhile ago and finally decided to put this post up. The puffy sleeves and the structure of the Lanvin dress remind me a lot of the captpink.com dress.

Deja Vu

I was reading some blogs and I came across this new line by H&M called 'Tribute to Marimekko'. It sounds Japanese, but it's actually Finnish and then a light blub, (dim as it may be) went off in my head. About a year ago, I was so exhausted from being in Topshop for the first time, I HAD to sit down and drink an espresso. Topshop has a coffee shop on one of the 20 floors. So basically, I didn't want to get up and was staring at the same section of racks for 30 min. And I was staring at these crazy lurid print dresses that made my eyes trip out, (they look just like the dresses above), but then crazy turned into somewhat artsy, and somewhat artsy turned into somewhat innovative. I got up and debated for an extra 15 min. if I should buy one or not. I liked it, and liked the idea that it would probably come to US in a year. But then sense came back into me and decided against it. Damn it. .

Hmm. .

The first dress is an Elie Tahari cotton-blend dress retailed at $1,498 from Elle's April 08 issue, and the second dress is Etro from C magazine. The third dress is from www.captpink.com by Free People. I think it's like if the first dress and the second dress made a baby.

Oops, Happy Be-lated B-day Posh!

I only feel it's appropriate to say Happy B-day to my dog's namesake. Happy birthday bitch.

Topshop in the U.S.!

In the words of Vicky Pollard, "I had my baby at Topshop". The huge retailer is coming to the States! It's the more "affordable", 50 pounds and up, youthful shopping experience in England. When I went to London I was there for 3 hours cause I kept getting lost. And then I went again the next day.

Calvin Klein Grand Opening Party

Can't wait for to meet Gabriel Aubrey and drink champagne with him on April 24th in South Coast Plaza Crystal Court. .
